Embry: 2.25 Years Old

I decided I'll do quarterly updates for E for the next year or two. Things are still changing pretty quickly with her and she's learning and doing so much new stuff every day. Jacob wanted me to keep up the monthly pictures and posts, but a friend of mine does quarterly after age two and I thought that was a great idea! Jacob and I had fun today coming up with what's new with our girl

2.25 Year Stats
Weight: 31 pounds taken at Texas Oncology a few weeks ago. Our scale is out of batteries right now at home.
Height: I will take this at some point.....I'll update ;)
Diapers: Size 5
Clothes: 2T, some 3T stuff that is second hand or that runs small, 24 month and 2T PJs
Shoes: Size 7
Eating:  She's still a pretty good eater, but goes through phases of not wanting to try new things and then phases where she'll try anything. Drinks around 8-16 oz of organic whole or 2%  milk per day and lots of water, still no juice of any sort. She likes a variety of fruits and veggies..favorites- grapes, watermelon, apples, pears, bananas, broccoli, bell peppers, roasted carrots, roasted cauliflower.  Favorites are cinnamon toast, chicken quesadillas, PB&J sandwiches, fruit snacks, granola bars, any carby snack (crackers, gold fish, etc)
Sleeping: 11+ hours straight through the night (8:00 pm-7:00 am). Nap at 1:00 pm, typically for 2 hours, sometimes 3 hours. Still sleeps in crib, wearing sleep sack and still uses pacifier in her crib (and the car). I am in no rush to move her out of her crib and taking doctors advice on keeping her there since she's content!#cribuntilkindergarten J/K But she's getting almost too big for the pack-n-play =/
Teeth: 16 teeth...still no 2 year molars
Words: So many!! Such a big change since her birthday!! Saying tons of new things every day. BUT, I still think she's behind in speech.... Also, she is kind of hard to understand, haha. No surprise as Mommy and Daddy were both in speech as young kids. Poor E!
Favorite Toys: ALL about pretend play, all things girly, and arts and crafts. Most used toy is probably her kitchen/play food/little table with babies. Dolls, strollers, doctor kit, Legos, make up set are all top contenders. She also loves her "arts and craft" bin and daily asks for Play Doh, stamps, stickers, etc.
Favorite Books:  Still on a big flap book kick. She loved her Christmas flap books, she sits through much longer books and stays interested. She ironically loves potty training books despite having no interest in potty training.
Favorite Shows/Characters: She loves Daniel Tiger, Minnie Mouse, Bubble Guppies and Doc McStuffins. She loves when we see character stuff out and about.

New Things
*Total language explosion! She now strings together 4 words- her first one was "No Mommy, Dada drive". (Daddy was  running into the gas station after filling up gas and I reached over and started the car)
*Has ZERO interest in potty training. We're definitely digressing here. She knows very well what it is, where she should do it, etc. She tells me when she poops and/or potties and knows the difference between the two. But she just has NO interest in going on the potty. I honestly don't mind and will reevaluate at 2.5 and maybe do the whole "3 day potty training" thing in April. We are so on the go and busy that diapers are almost easier for us right now! I know I totally sound like a lazy mom, but I'm in no rush to potty train!
*Such a good helper. A lot of times her "help" makes me take twice as long to do whatever I'm doing, but she LOVES to help and is always saying "me help", "me help". She loves to help cook, clean, wrap Christmas presents, even wipe her own bottom....hah!Every day when Jacob gets home from work she runs out to his car and carries in his coffee thermos inside while saying "me help Dada"
*She loves saying she's "scared" if she is feeling nervous....or just doesn't want to do something. Started in November and she still says it all the time.
*Sucks on Lovey, it's seriously so gross. Trying to break the habit.
*She had her first fainting experience...one of the scariest things ever. (Fell and hit her head hard on the floor and passed out while crying). Now every time she gets hurt, I brace myself for her to faint.
*Got her ears pierced and loves showing them off! She looks so grown up!
*Calls me Mommy (and Mama, and Mom) and Jacob- Dada

*Openly defying us for sure. She's a two year old! When she doesn't want to do something it's very clear..... hah
*Grasping numbers, counting, etc. Knows when we say to get one of something or two of something.
*Enjoys brushing teeth...she went through a phase of hating it until Jacob told her that she had to brush them to get sparkly princess teeth. Oh my gosh.... She now has to come and show off her sparkly teeth every single night.
*Obsessed with herself. Loves to look in the mirror at herself, definitely getting a sense of vanity.
*Loves to "toot", announcing when she toots and getting a rise out of us over it....hah.
*Quite a bossy little thing. Makes her opinion well known!

*Still a Mommy's girl most of the time. Goes through Daddy phases...and then some phases where she only wants Mommy. But wants Daddy to put her to bed every single night. I can't remember the last time I put her to bed.
*Can use throw-up as a weapon... Can work herself up enough to puke when she's upset. So gross and so frustrating.
*Doesn't wear her Amber teething necklace anymore. Insisted on taking it off about a month ago and I've just left it off.

*Still loves "school" (MOPS) and doesn't mind going to the gym daycare and Sunday school at church. Looking forward to getting her in a Mother's Day Out program in the future.
*Most importantly, we love our little "2.25" year old more than we could have ever imagined and she makes us excited to wake up every single day! She is the light of our lives and we love being her parents!
