Embry: 6 Months Old

Six Month Stats

Weight: 17.2 pounds (done on scale at home)
Height:  27.5 inches (done at home)
Diapers: Size 3
Clothes: 3-6 month or 6 months stuff. Wears all Carter's PJs size 6 months. She does wear her 6-12 month Old Navy Jeggings, but I fold the bottoms up a bit.
Eating: Still breast fed (no bottles-uh) Still eating solids once a day. I will move to twice a day soon, but it's so darn messy.... Let's see, she now has tried bananas, sweet potatoes, avocados, squash, pears, apples, peas, and carrots. She really seems to like them all; I retried avocados and she liked them a lot more! I'd say her favorites are squash, sweet potatoes, and peas. I will talk to the pediatrician at her six month check up (April 9) about introducing the proteins.
Sleeping: For the fourth or fifth month in a row, I am reporting her sleep is the "same as last month". Still sleeps 12 hours with one break. She is almost always down by 7:00 pm; last night it was 6:45! She now has done 12 straight hours a few times. Starting March 4 we had visitors for 2.5 weeks straight then spent the last 10 days in Austin, so I'm ready for her to get back on a good schedule and then work on cutting out that 4:00 am feed! Still sleeps in a sleep sack and in her crib for all naps and at night.
Teeth: Adding a few new sections...although we have no teeth yet! As I've been saying for weeks (months?) I feel like I'll wake up tomorrow and teeth will be there!
Words: Mama... Okay, really she says "mamamamamama". Not sure we're marking this down as her first word or not, but she definitely says it. I have been working with her on this for weeks and have seen her little brain hard at work. She studied my mouth each time I said it and now says it all the time. I really will consider her first "word" when she says something and associates it with the object. But still, I'm proud!

New Things!

*Sitting up...well I'd say we're about 80% there. She can sit on her own for many minutes at a time, but it's very unpredictable when she'll fall. She's pretty steady balancing front to back, but when she reaches for something to the side of her she topples over.
*Says "Mama" (see above)
*Wears Baltic Amber necklace 24/7 *Loves to jump either in Jumperoo, Johnny Jump Up, or standing on your lap!
*Lifts arms up when she wants to be picked up
*Holds on to foods to gnaw (biter biscuit, bell peppers, etc)
